What hub caps?
I put some 1940 ford wheels on my A and was planning to put the 40 hub caps on as well but they wont fit because the hub sticks out too far. I've seen hub caps on Model A's with steel wheels haven't I? Anybody know what caps will work?

Re: What hub caps?
Can't answer your question but I hope you installed spacers between thw hubs ans wheels as A hubs have a raised area on the small diameter and V8 wheels are flat.

Re: What hub caps?
Isn't that when running wire wheels on the later drums that spacers are required...not the other way around?

The fact that the catalogue you referenced doesn't show the spacers for the later wheels on the Model A drums only means that they don't sell them, not that they are not required. There isn't a big market for the latter wheels on the Model A drums. Charlie Stephens Last edited by Charlie Stephens; 04-26-2017 at 12:15 PM. |

Re: What hub caps?
I have heard...on the HAMB, actually...that some repro early Ford hubcaps are made to fit only the wheels made by the same company's wheels, which apparently have differences in the diameter at the friction bumps AND are made for the streetrod market with no thought to Ford hub. Maybe Wheel Vintiques? Not sure. At any rate the big market now is streetrodders, who like to have "Olde Cars" that don't contain anything old at all.
