I have good success most to the time, sharpening with my fine grit stone 8" grinder. A machinist showed me how to do it many years ago. You hold the bit at the angle desired, i.e. 60°, and twist the bit an angle sufficient to sweep the lip which provides clearance for the material being removed by drilling. You grind below the center of the grinding wheel and not on the flat side of the wheel. A couple of passes on one lip and then change position of the bit and a couple of passes on the opposite lip. Check as you go.
