Re: No comment
I'm sure he didn't take a perfect original condition car and make this, maybe he did but,,,,, I bet that thing is like a magnet during game season and I'd love to have one painted up for Appalachian State. On the hood I'd do like the fighter pilots did and have a Michigan wolverine and University of North Carolina sticker to represent the "kills". .
This car and any like it can be repainted and restored back to like original condition and you know it makes people look at the car who never would. |

The white walls are from the Firestone plant in Rocky Mount NC. Better priced if you buy two at a time. So I've been told.

Re: No comment
You are correct Bob. The Ramblin' Wreck (Georgia Tech car) is owned by the Univ. This car (Ramblin' Rebel) is still privately owned and not part of the school (except to promote team spirit by the car's owner Tad Provence)
Note: Tad passed away in 2017 and left instructions that I (or someone) continue his quest of attending every home game at Ole Miss. I and his family will honor his wish as long as the car will survive. |

Re: No comment
Mr Rebel, you didn't happen to know a fellow by the name of Jack Lucas, North Carolina native who also lived in Mississippi before his death a few years back did you? He was a WW2 Medal of Honor recipient, super nice guy that was hell on wheels when he was young.

Re: No comment
I believe it's the man who restored the car and who passed away a couple of years ago.

Re: No comment
I am not sure if I knew Mr. Lucas. I've been in Mississippi since 1990 but am from NC. (1956 to 1988) and spent a few years traveling with different jobs.

That photo in the windshield is the deceased owner Tad Provence. He comes with the car (dead or not).

Re: No comment
Not my choice of colours but it's not my car either. Never the less, I'd watch (and listen to) it go by.

Re: No comment
I believe I chatted with you when you had it at Natchez in the Natchez trace tour. I like the car as it is something different and there’s nothing wrong with the ole miss theme .
Folks can do their cars to their liking .... it’s what makes things interesting . Imagine if they were all exactly the same color . I really enjoyed the trace tour. All the best Larry shepard |

Any one can restore or have an original restored, but it takes talent to make an original out of an original. Great job and well done - whom ever did it.

Re: No comment
A friend restored a 42 Chev convertible and did a great job. Someone pointed out the car had a very fine metallic in the burgundy paint and that was not a stock color. My friend then replied, with a bit of red showing on his bald head, "by God if I'm paying for it, I'll paint it any color I want!"
Every Model A only has to satisfy one person, the one paying the bills. |
