Default Merc 8ba overhaul

I have several 8ba blocks (a couple Merc) and I want to build one to put in my 35 Sedan.I( know there is a lot of info out there, but I met a fellow a couple years ago from Okla. City. who appeared to be quite knowledgeable. I can't spend the family jewels, and I want to do as much as I can myself. Anyone know who this fellow is? Any secrets to success? Thanks, Russ

the first thing that you need to do is take your block in to have it hot tanked and have it magnaflexed. you need to start with a good block. the ones that you have may be bad good luck ...Rich

x2 on that. I tested three blocks (all I had) before my Engine Builder took pity on me and sold me one from his stock.

You have a plan, but the first step is a good block. Step two is to be found right here, there is a wealth of information and help here on Fordbarn.
