Re: Billb's v/8 site
Well, I am sorry to hear that. Bill was there when other sites failed and he stored hundreds of technical items at his Flathead "Techno-site".
Bill was also a big help to me, personally, when I was finally finished with my book. He found a Print Shop and helped with getting the book printed and assembled. He is a great guy to whom I wish all the best in life. |

Re: Billb's v/8 site
According to Bill's post the other day, he intends to keep the Techno Site up - it's a great resource.

Re: Billb's v/8 site
That's good news. There is a tremendous amount of good technical information there.

Re: Billb's v/8 site
Maybe this is time to thank Ryan for this site. It must require time, energy, and expenses to operate.
All of us enjoy the site; the fruits of Ryans effort. It shouldn't be taken for granite. |

Re: Billb's v/8 site
ALL: I just sent an email to Bill, asking if he would be interested in printing a copy of the "Tech Pages" (for which I would gladly pay him!!) - we MIGHT be able to get his interest if enough ask the same question. It would be a total shame if the information that he has amassed over the years is lost. For those who do NOT have it, I strongly recommend a copy of JWL's book; that, along with the tech pages, would make an AWESOME collection of not-available-anywhere-else information...........Your thoughts??

Re: Billb's v/8 site
I agree, Bill helped me get my book reprinted when The cost of low quantity printing went up so much. He took over the printing of my book and later helped Bill Boomer keep it running. This is a great loss to our hobby.
I wish Bill the best. Ron |

Re: Billb's v/8 site
Went to the web sight that mfagn indicated. Did not see a place for Tech sight. Or directions how to sign in.
This is the 1st time I have heard about the sight. Guess I have missed a lot. |

Re: Billb's v/8 site
Perhaps Ryan would consider somehow absorbing some of the info from Bill's site into the Fordbarn.
Certainly an interesting predicament; keeping the old auto technology alive with modern means of communication and documentation. Sometimes these worlds collide in unusual and unexpected ways. |

Re: Billb's v/8 site
Here is the link to the techno site. http://www.btc-bci.com/~billben/flathead.htm
There is a lot of very good info on it. A good amount came from Rumbleseat. While it is too bad the forum is going down at the end of the month, I learned a lot from it, I wish BillB all the best. |

Re: Billb's v/8 site
In addition to this site I also frequent MustangsandMore.com.
It takes a tremendous amount of dedication and energy to run these sites and sometimes the most challenging part is dealing with the general public and the Internet Wackos who seem to exist only to make others lives miserable. The members over there got together and requested a way to help out and say 'thank you' for all the hard work. There is a VOLUNTARY link to PayPal to make donations for the cause. There is not a suggested donation amount, its just the honor system of "if this site is helpful and you enjoy it please make a contribution to keep it running". I would hate for Ryan to get to the point of frustration and/or disinterest and make the same decision BillB has. |
