Default Buy new or repair ?

40 pickup hood hinges & support brackets, mine are shot, best to rebuild, try to find good used or buy new? If buy new, who makes a quality product ?

Not sure about the pickup, but I installed a set of he Bob Drake hinges on a 47 car and they worked great.

Hi, Dave. I used Bob Drake hinges and springs on both our '39 and '47 with great results. Again, like Ralph, above, not sure about pickup, but think the results should be similar.

I found Drake's pickup hinges were not formed identical to the original. It didn't take a lot to modify them but thought you should be aware that it's not going to be a simple "bolt on" part. Unless of course, you are not concerned with getting the hood to fit properly.
