Kool Kat You might wanna change your statement to "one OF the best guitarist"....I'm sure Eric Clapton (who also has a 32 Vicky), Jimmy Page, Jimmy Hendrix and about 15 more I could list would take umbrage with your "emphatic" statement

Hey Mike.... Dylan is still one of my favorites. I always had the nearest radio cranked-up as a teenager. When we moved to the Houston area in August of '65, about every fifth song that played on KILT, 610 AM seemed like it was Ol' Bob whalin'-away with "Like A Rolling Stone". Didn't remember hearing it played in New Orleans before we left. Didn't even know who Dylan was before that. That was a time when music was really beginning to get interesting.

Coop, as strange as it may seem, there are those who march to a different drummer.

Yep. I'll bet you guys don't know who Riggie Laus, Don Angelica, Jim McConkey, and Eric Perilloux were either.

My apologies to all for taking this thread off topic. I meant no disrespect for the man and his music. My sincere condolences to his family and to those who knew and loved his music.

He was a hands on car guy beside the musical genius. Long thread over at the hamb, one photo shows those long thin talented fingers all covered in gook like he had been cleaning a dirty axle or gear box. In one of the videos he tells how he had his "car barn" built to 1800's building technics to match the rest of the property. Post and beam frame, and largely assembled with wood pegs. Wide variety of cars, some stockers too although no doubt he was a hot rodder. First rod was one of Andy Brizios "instant T" kits, that he built himself , while dressed in typical British rocker duds !
Wonder if Mart ever ran across him at any events?

tubman was probably listening to the Trashmen, the Litter, the Stillroven, Gregory D and the Avantis, the Castaways, Michael's Mystics and maybe Whoppee John and his Polka Band.
All born and bred in MN.
Ah, the garage bands -- something that we can all relate to.

Yep the band spawned Eric Clapton , Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. All brilliant guitarists. Of the three I have only seen Clapton live -A brilliant guitarist but like his good friend George Harrison not much stage presence. He played in New Zealand at a winery concert which was promoted by the winery issuing wine bottles with his picture on it - as a recovering alcoholic he took great exception to this ( and fair enough ) -all the bottles were pulled from sale . My sister in laws best friend was in one of the supporting bands and so I got one which must be a real collectors item now !

Hi Ho Silver lining RIP Jeff Beck

" Hi Ho silver Lining " or if you watch Marts Garage he would probably say "hey-ho" silver lining.

I never heard of this guy..............ok...............

clapton learned from Beck, beck was the best unless you want to add Hendrix or maybe eddie.............

most of those guys love 32's. maybe because it was an iconic and transitional yr

I ended up with an extremely rare set of Whalen headlights, because the lead of Metallica decided they werent the "look" he wtd for his ride.

Nope. Wrong generation. I made my sons use headphones so I could have some peace and quiet.

I never did bump into him, but do remember seeing one of his cars and seeing a skinny dude nearby. Never got to chat with him though.
