Cheap Reproduction Head?
This head was in a truckload of parts that I bought. It looks like a cheap reproduction made in the 40's. The casting is very poor quality. Do any of you experts know what it is?
Thanks, Dave |

Is there a diamond on the front passenger side just below the hole for the long stud?

Re: Cheap Reproduction Head?
I think that is an aftermarket part - I've seen a lot of them on cars that were last worked on in the 50s and 60s. Haven't really seen a lot of them at swap meets though.

Manny, Moe, and Jack cast those up in Freds garage, They thought they would become millionaires!

Re: Cheap Reproduction Head?
I have one that was on my car. I have since replaced it with a 5.5 head. Works just fine as it is a replacement for a stock head. Like you said cast probably in the late 30-40’s.

Re: Cheap Reproduction Head?
April 12, 1940! Just because the selling price was maybe low, does not mean it was cheaply made. Pre WW2 so could have been a good grade of iron used.
