If we advertise a used car for sale, we must quote either registration number or VIN. Blocking out the rego plate seems pointless to me.

The licence plate is blocked out in case someone with DMV/police access can use the number to trace the owners address and then steal it . In this case I think it is low risk as it would be easy to recognise unlike a regulat model A .
