Default Diamond Block Number?

Recently picked up a '34 Four Door Sedan....Has a '37 Motor in it. I am in the process of going through it, inspecting and replacing/adjusting components as needed for safety and drivability.

While disassembling the motor, I noticed it was a Diamond block and has its own unique Ford stamped ID number. I know the diamond blocks were replacement Ford motors, but did they have their own ID number sequence? Or is this just a 'one off"? Here are a few pics...Thanks for any input...

Congrats on your 'new' car and welcome to the Barn! I, too have a '34 sedan with a '37 motor and it's a great running car. I did a 60 mile trip today and it ran beautifully! Don't know about your ID question but I'm sure others will be able to answer your question.

Many were replacement blocks and were stamped with the number from the block they replaced. I have a Model B diamond block stamped with an AA number from 1930

Thanks for the info...the odd "FEV" code and 6 digit number (early 33?) seemed strange. And from what I have researched, most early V8s had no number on the block at all to match up to. I suppose it could have been matched to a '33 and then wound up in my car at some point. At least my transmission matches my frame still...
