Default Wire Gauge for headlights

Need to put new wires to head lights. It is 6 volt, what gauge should I use ?? Thanks

Probably can't go wrong with 12 gage 20 amp. Assuming it's fused for 20 amp.

The original was 14 gauge. 12 gauge goes from the main source(fuse) to the switch.

If 14 gauge was good enough, 12 gauge would be better . . . unless you're going for historic accuracy. Low voltage likes big wire.
