Default Fixing paint chips

After spending many hours looking for paint codes and finding out that suppliers have problems dealing with old paint codes I found a simple solution. Most NAPA stores have a special camera that identifies the proper formula to match your car color. Then they can mix small or large quantities of the type of paint you need. Hope this helps someone. Yes the camera can be an aid but they search their data base for a color formula that is as close as they can get to your color. Tinting may be required which is not a bad thing at all. It does not produce a new formula that matches your color.
Technology to produce a match would certainly be welcome.

Seems like finding the color that most closely matches ones car is all that is needed for chip repair unless one is truly a perfectionist. Jon L.

Don't know about all NAPA dealers but our local one can mix the paint & put it in spray cans also.
