Default 1930 Model A Front Crossmember

I have just acquired A 1930 Tudor. The front crossmember was broken and not reliably repairable. Fortunately, the previous owner had found a new, unused replacement which I have now fitted. However it is a thicker gauge and the sides that go around the spring are not parallel, so the standard U bolts won't go over it. It is identical apart from these differences and fits the frame perfectly. I thought I'd try to find U-bolts and top / bottom plates that fit this crossmember, but I'm having trouble finding out exactly what model it was originally intended for.
Anyone have any ideas?

Go to a truck spring repair shop and they will make up the U-Bolts to fit your cross member and help with the spring fit.

Is it possible that somebody could have installed an AA truck crossmember in a Model A frame?

Do you have a 1928-29 crossmember in your 1930? The 1928-29 uses different U bolts, crank guide and spring clip bar plus it will change the height of your radiator so the hood will not fit properly.

That and if it's a 28 29 member your radiator is going to be to high and the hood won't line up.
