I cut several cars into pieces with a Sawzall. The cars were scrap, not Model A's. They went into a dumpster and then to a scrap yard.

When we were cutting up cars for scrap in the 1950s we used axes. $19-$20 a ton for scrap steel.

When I was a youngster back in the early 1960's, my neighbor cut up a tudor sedan body behind his house and put it in the trash. He used a hack saw. I wish I had that body today !

In the 1970’s, the L.A. Rams drafted a Linebacker named Jack “Hacksaw” Reynolds. The story was that he got the nickname in college when they lost a game he got so mad that he cut up a car with a hacksaw.

From Google:

How did Jack Hacksaw Reynolds get his nickname?
He earned his nickname in 1969 by cutting an abandoned 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air (some accounts claim it was a Porsche) in half with a hacksaw after his previously unbeaten Volunteers returned from an embarrassing 38–0 road loss to Ole Miss. "I came back to school and I was very upset," Reynolds said.
