F1 Inner fender color
Are the front inner fenders on a 48 F1 painted black, or the body color? If black, is it gloss, semi gloss or flat.
Also, if black, is the visible round lip at the top painted the body color? Thanks in advance. Similarly, are the back of the grill & headlight pieces black, or the grill color ... a cream color I believe. |

Re: F1 Inner fender color
I've never seen them body color. Mine were black when I took the fender off. I'm assuming it was your standard semi-gloss chassis black, but tough to tell with 60+ year old paint.
The back of my grille was the Tuscon tan color. |

Re: F1 Inner fender color
All the trucks I've parted out, they all were Black on both sides. You would see a strip of black where the fender meets the skirt. From what I can tell, they appear to be chassis black, But, as Green said above, it's tough to tell on paint that old. THey do dull out over time. If you know anyone at a autobody supply store who mixes paint, maybe they can scan a sample of the paint or take the skirt in to be checked.

No fender welt between fender and running boards.
