Default tillotson float valves

Hey guys, how do you lap an all metal float valve into a Tillotson carb. They’re a lot smaller than a regular valve, so I don’t have any idea of how to do it. Bill, suggested that I use a coarse toothpaste as a lapping compound, and I agree. I’ll use Pepsodent, but how is the question. Another thing, those things are supposed to be staked (tapped lightly so they seat in the carb), but is lapping required when you are going to stake an all metal valve?
