Here's a photo of all three versions. The two on the left with unslotted holes are the early ones used with flat front cross members without the large hole for the two-piece insulator. The one in the center is the earliest version and the one on the left is an extremely rare short-lived second version.

Anyone who has wrestled with using those with unslotted holes knows well why the slots were added given the slight variations that exist in the distance between the front and center cross members of '32 chassis frames.
