Default '29 ocpu sill plates.

I'm assembling a basket case '29 open cab pickup body and have a question about the sill plates. I know they attach to the subrails with screws from the top. How do they attach to the sill plate brackets on the underside? Do they just hook to the sill plate bracket, or? Any photos? Thanks,

Bob

I believe the sill covers on an OCPU are very similar to phaeton and roadster sill covers. There is a strip of metal spot welded to the outside of the subrails where the cover goes on. This holds the cover out from the subrails to give the cover support. There should be a flange on the lower part of the sill cover that is "crimped" over the metal strip that is spot welded to the subrail and the outer edge of the subrails. I have posted a couple pictures of the area from my 29 phaeton.
