Default 1926 depot hack

I have a 1926 depot hack. Were these assembled in Ford factory or were the chassis sent to Murray or Briggs or someone else for assembly?

The Depot Hack wasn't a Ford factory body style during the Model T years. Only with the Model A did Ford mfg a station wagon (depot hack).

These bodies were built by many companies, and sold to dealers or agents, who installed the body on a Ford chassis. Ford sold many many thousands of chassis for use by aftermarket agents, who built there own or bought commercially made bodies.

Note this catalog page, the lower line states K.D. for 'knock down' as these bodies were sent by rail car transit in knock down to be built and placed on the Ford chassis by the dealer, agent, or even the auto owner.
