I'm working on a 60 trans and fitted the throw our bearing hub to the front bearing retainer and it seems I have more clearance (approx 1/32")than I'm used to with the regular V8 trans. Both parts are NOS Ford so there isn't a wear issue. Is this how the 60's were? The trans was incomplete to start with and did not have a throw bearing hub so do not have another part to reference.

Hello: The inside dia. of the hub is 1.287

The outside dia. of the beraing retainer is 1.276

I measured my NORS hub and it measures 1.315" ID, no wonder it seems "too loose", it was made .028" oversize!!. So much for having NORS parts, you gotta watch some of them. Thanks for the input Gary, I'll have to be on the lookout for another hub.
