Default 1955 ford electrical problem

My 55 is still 6 volts so I use a " POSITIVE GROUND VOLTAGE INVERTER" to operate my AM/FM and satellite radio...I had an electrical short and blew some fuses in the car and now my satellite radio and my am/fm radio does not work.
I am suspecting that the voltage inverter was shorted out.
IS THERE A WAY TO TEST THE VOLTAGE INVERTER TO SEE IF IT IS FRIED ?
The inverter has a 14 gauge red wire running thru the center and one black ground wire in the center of the case. The red wire does show continuity with my multimeter....Can the inverter still be bad and show continuity ?

OK...I was able to test the inverter on a 6V system and my multimeter said the inverter was putting out 12V...the problem must be in the radio itself... :{

With any luck you may find an easy-to-change blown fuse inside the radio.
But if there's something wrong with the radio it will blow again, or just not work at all.

You should have an inline fuse going to the radio.Make sure that fuse is ok and not blown.Just follow the red wire coming off the radio and you will see the inline fuse.If there is no inline fuse on the power wire going to the radio,than more than likely the fuse will be in the back of the radio,next to the electrical wire harness.Its usually a 10 amp or so square mini fuse. Another thing you can do (if you have a multimeter) is to check and make sure that the internal amps are not shorted on the radio.You do this by connecting the black wire of the meter to a good ground and the red lead on the Red wire of the radio.You should have high resistance at that wire.If the meter shows low ohms,than your radio power supply or amps are shorted. Hope this helps.
