Default Bell housing brake & Clutch pedal shaft pin removal

What is the best way to remove the pin that holds the brake and clutch pedal shaft in the bell housing. I am finding it difficult to drive the pin out from the inside of the bell housing using a punch. Cannot get a good blow to it.

thanks Keith

The way I do it, if the bell housing has the earlier dome shape rivet, is to take a chisel and knock the head of the rivet off and then drive the the pin in from the outside.

Thanks I'll try that as it does have a dome head shape.
