Default Sediment Bulb Problem

I installed a new tank valve and screen today in my 31. With the sediment bulb off I get a good flow of gasoline into a container. When I put the screen and cork gasket in and put the bowl on I get no gas. It had been working fine before as I even had a Wix filter in the bowl. Any ideas please.

Your carb must be full of gas. Start the engine and it will flow.

Check the gasket is not "covering" the hole in the aluminum top?

My screen is quite fine. Try assembling without the screen and checking flow at the inlet to the carburetor

I just went out and took off the in line filter that I put on this week and put the original gas line back on and I had flow. Prior to that I couldn't even get gas into the bulb. Keep playing with it.

I think Jackson III was on the right track. I'm sure the carb was full of gas and the line from the tank valve to the sediment bulb had gas in it, but the line from the sediment bulb to the carb was full of air with no place to go. If I had bled the line at the carb I think it would have been fine. Thanks for all the comments. Still listening and learning.

A lot of the inline filters are designed to be used after a fuel pump, where there is more pressure than on a gravity system, so they may not pass fuel when used w/a gravity system.
