Re: 33 truck frame question
I'm no frame expert, but think the pickup and cars used the same frames. So it would be the same difference as between the car frames. Which is a lot if you are trying to switch between the two.

Re: 33 truck frame question
I believe The 32 pick up used the same frame dimensions as a 32 car,The cabs are the same dimensions as 33 ,so it would fit but the bed wheel well on a 33 is placed farther back than a 32 ,

http://wescottsauto.com/WebCatalog/T...iagram1932.pdf http://wescottsauto.com/WebCatalog/T...ram1933-34.pdf My advice would would be to get the right frame because the wrong one would put the wheels in the wrong location on the bed. I haven't done it but if you are just talking about the body and you are not doing a restoration you probably would be ok. If that is the case make another thread that will pick up the right people. Maybe title it "Will '33 truck cab interchange with a '32". Charlie Stephens |

Re: 33 truck frame question
A buddy here in France found a '33 ruck cab and plans on putting it on a '32 frame. The '33 firewall is being replaced with a '32 firewall. He then has the '32 fenders ,grille ,running boards and hood he will use. Also the '33 dash will be used.He is buying a shortened (at the rear) '32 bed from Macks Products. Basically it will look like a '32.The gas tank is the other issue as he wants to fabricate one to mount at the rear under the bed.
'32 truck gas tanks were under the seat. Last edited by deuce lover; 03-12-2020 at 03:32 PM. |

Re: 33 truck frame question
Pretty sure the '32-'34 cabs are the same except for firewalls and the reveal on the rear of the '34.

Re: 33 truck frame question
The base has been pretty well covered already. The starting point is the six inch difference in the wheelbase of the two frames ('32 - 106" and '33 - 112"). As Sheldon notes, the '32 firewall is a separate part not permanently attached to the cab while the completely different '33 firewall is an integral part of the cab. The dash are instrument panels of the two years are different, although interchangeable.
You would want a '32 bed, not a shortened '33 bed as I don't think the mounting attachments for the rear fenders would line up correctly. It is also likely that you would have to modify (or use the '32 versions of the #1 and #2 floor boards) the '33 floor boards to achieve proper clearance for the brake and clutch pedals on the '32 chassis. |
