I didn't remove it. I had Dick Crabtree restore the T handles I have. I believe I bought the handle with the lock removed - I have has them for quite a while. I don't have a clue how to remove a lock cylinder. Dick does a great job on handles and popout cables. He can rekey a lock if it has no key with it. He has done several of each for me.
One thing about the trunk handles I don't understand is how the round flat plate is kept from turning once installed on the trunk. Even tightening the acorn nut tight, doesn't seem to keep the plate form turning some. There is a dimple on the plate, but I don't see anything to mate to on the trunk. Maybe a couple of drops of J-B Weld would work, but then it would be very hard to ever remove the handle if needed. Rusty Nelson |
