Default Unknown U-joint housing

I was looking through my cache of U-joint parts/covers and ran into the 2 parts in the pictures below. I am quite sure they are not used on model A's. I suspect they are for early V8 Fords. Can someone identify what the housings in the pictures below are used for - i.e. year. Thanks.

Early V8, a must have when using a V8 trans in your A.
