Default chopped flywheel

I'd like to find out how much you can take off the stock model a flywheel and still survive. I think 15 pounds is standard, but is it safe to take off more?
I'm running a counterballanced crank, and I think it would improve performance to take more off the flywheel. IF IT'S SAFE!

Mine is 32 pounds so, that means I took off 30 pounds. I have seen flywheels that only weighed 20 pounds.

I am running a counterbalanced crank; my flywheel and ring gear weight 38 lbs.; I also used a V8 pressure plate which is 4 lbs. lighter than the A pressure plate.

Be sure to have the flywheel and pressure plate balanced.

My engine idles right down and sounds like a stock engine but certainly has faster pickup during exceleration.

It also is easier on the rear main bearing.

With the roads we have today the lugging power is not as critical as it was years ago.

Weld-up counterweighted crank with a 27 pound flywheel and late clutch all balanced. With the Stipe HP350 cam it doesn't sound like an A but you can't have it all.
