French v8 oil schematic
Just checking if anyone has a schematic drawing of the French flathead v8 oil pipe ports and layout. It will be a full flow remote Hildebrand (sp) type system. I know I have seen a schematic years ago from SF ford, but danged if I can find it now.

Re: French v8 oil schematic
No French motor has full flow from the factory. They had a bypass filter.

Thanks @petehoovie , I have seen this schematic but it doesn’t show the French specific oil port halfway down the rear LH side of the block.

Yeah, I think the drawing is for Ford blocks. Red sells a schematic/plan for the French Block at https://reds-headers.net/index.php?m...roducts_id=262

The oil port your referring to on the lower left side of the French flathead block is located directly into the main oil passage feed right from the oil pump. Taking oil from this location is the easiest way to to do the oil filter conversion. Oil from this port can be sent directly into the oil filter. Using this port to feed the oil filter saves time and the extra work needed on the Ford block. From the oil filter going out to the engine you still need to add the cross plug passage shown in the diagram item "A" above. Since the French block has the additional inlet passage with the cross passage closed shown in drawing as "A" the conversion is completed. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Ronnieroadster

Re: French v8 oil schematic
Did the Bren carriers have full flow and a oil cooler? How was that plumbed? Just asking since curious.
