Re: Crestline Steering Wheel
That’s just gorgeous. Not just the wheel, but the whole look. How about a picture of the full interior. And exterior, you know how we love pictures.

Re: Crestline Steering Wheel
I bought the car in February 2022, after finding it and really liking a lot of the way it was built and also finding out that it was originally built by Ford (7) days after I was born it sealed the deal for me. My goal was to give it that fifties hot rod look so I bought all new wheels and tires then put the four bar hubcaps on. The engine is actually a 1960 292, so I dressed up the motor and installed power steering and power disc brake system on the front. I also installed a Pertronix Igniter II module and converted it to alternator. Then I rebuilt the speedometer pod with a new lens and a perfect used dome and all new jewel lens. The speedometer mechanism was restored by Bob’s Speedometer in Michigan. Of course a lot of other little changes to get it the way that I wanted, try to drive it daily as much as possible.

Re: Crestline Steering Wheel
That is a very nice looking car. I see where you installed power steering and also have power brakes. How bad was it to install the power steering components? That is what I want to do to my 55 Ford wagon. Was it a complete kit that you bought? If so, where did you get it from?

Re: Crestline Steering Wheel
Really pretty. Punches all the buttons for a great cruiser, especially in Lk Havasu. Light color, a/c, a real year round drive down there. I’ve got an acquaintance who winters down there and drives his 37 Chevy down from Portland every year.

Was the 'KIT' the one offered by GEARHEADS years ago with the (their) modified SAGINAW 605 box? What did you do to straighten the swap out? |

That horn ring assembly only fits the Crestliner accessory wheel those few years. '53 was the 50 year anniversary of Fomoco and last year for the flathead. You may have noticed the phrase "Silver anniversay" stamped into the center plastic emblem on '53 horn rings. |

Re: Crestline Steering Wheel
The 50 & 51 Crestliner steering wheels had the spokes arranged in a full on X pattern and there was a stylized F in the center.

This has been ringing a bell, but I didn’t add it up till I ran a search.
