Default lights

Installed a new switch base, the old one was not working, and wired it like the old one and the head lights will not work. I have had it off a dozen times and re wired per book and still no head lights. Any clues out there. Frustrated.

Repos of 2 years ago were defective. New repos are great and work good. Make sure the spyder is lined up with the slots in the switch.

With the switch removed, find the hot line and run a jumper to each connection to verify continuity and function. Checking the spider is an excellent idea!

Follow the electrons my son. Go back to the spot where you found juice and check each conductor and each contact with both a continuity meter, and check light with a needle that can penetrate the wire's insulation. Check, check, check. Electrons just don't disappear. And cleanliness is paramount.

skip, not trying to be flip.

Make sure that all your electrical connections are soldered. Do not depend on a good lasting connection using crimped or even bullet connectors.
