Default 1931 Cabriolet Door latch Spring

My door latch spring has snapped (1931 68B) and I have bought the standard door latch spring (se picture)and can not get it to fit as it will not compress sufficiently to get it past the latch into the gap behind. I am not sure if this is the correct spring as it has more coils than the original fitted.

Will the "Closed Car Door Handle Spring A46125L" from Mikes A Fordable fit or does anyone have a spring I can buy.

Many thanks

Jon Davidson

My 36 conv sedan latch is similar, the spring is the same as a 36 closed car (sedan), I see these springs on e-bay, and other suppliers.

hope it helps you, the motion, and position are similar

I have installed the springs with vicegrips, grab 1/2 width, twist to align, push in with screwdriver while releasing vicegrips ---the tabs do not like being bent much, some springs came with U shaped strap to replace tabs broke
