Multimeter Device
I'm constantly searching at flea markets for a correct dash light switch for
my 35. As many of you know the 35 and 36 switches operate the opposite of each other so I need to figure out what type multimeter would indicate to me if a switch is on when pulled out or when pushed in. Experience has taught me that just because there's a correct 35 knob on a switch is not a guarantee it's a correctly operating one. I own a nice little Radio Shack multimeter and I just bought new batteries for it but I'd like to have a device that would make a sound, light up or something to indicate when the power is being transferred from one switch terminal to the other on a switch I'm thinking about buying but my meter doesn't do that. Automotive electronics is not one of my strong areas of expertise. |

Re: Multimeter Device
You'll use the continuity test feature to check the operation of a switch.

Re: Multimeter Device
Even the cheap ones now have a capacitance test feature on them these days. It's for testing condensers; I'd want that capability.
