It seems this topic comes up here every once in awhile and even after the discussions it is still confusing to folks. Hopefully this PDF helps us understand the differences.


In my opinion, if you do not have the alignment jigs AND either a correct inclination gauge or a couple of digital protractors, you cannot measure this accurately enough to even bother with it as you can make it worse very easily. The reason the gauge is so important is each time you make a bend on the axle beam, you must reset and re-level so that your calibration is the same..

Terry, my memory has cleared since my first post on this thread. 7 degrees is correct FOR KING PIN INCLINATION. Because the stub axle is not at a right angle to the king pin, the inclination of the wheel is not 7 degrees. I suspect that is where the confusion originates.
