Default OG Horn Install with 12 volts?

When I had my 41 converted to 12v I removed the horn. I have since disassembled and painted it and would like to hook it back up. I know the horns are going to be way louder, they both work as I have hooked the 2 horn wires to hot and grounded the housings using a 12v battery. My question is will I need to replace the original relay and purchase a 12v relay? I don’t want to fry anything. Thanks

I'd go with the 12 volt relay they aren't that expensive.
Don't do what I did.

Hi,

I converted to 12volt and looked into various options. I bought a resitor but didn't like the idea of the heat from it although the horn isn't used that often to really be a problem. I found the post below and added a shunt wire to my horn which bypasses one of the horn coils, simple and reversible. It works great.
