Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
What would you like to know? (I'm no guru, but I do know something about them.)

Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
The B engine isn't a lot different than the Model A engine. A person doesn't have to be a Guru to understand them. It depends on what you need as to what level of capability or knowledge a person would have to possess to be of help to you.

What are you going to do with the guru when you find him? Post your question, if someone posts an incorrect answer someone else will correct it.

Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
It is interesting to note that the guru's have their areas of expertise. As I said before, post your questions and let everyone take a crack at the answer. The subject is too big, one person can't know everything.

Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
Just have an older friend who purchased a 34 B pickup that needs a LOT of work. Trying to get resources compiled for him. He's not really computer savy.

Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
Ok what can you tell us about the truck? Is it running? If the engine needs rebuilding we can give him some names, depending on location. Dennis carpenter is one option for parts, Bob Drake is another and placing want ads on here works also. 5 minutes on the computer equals 5 hours on the phone with one person. You'll get trials, tribulations and sometimes an offer of free parts with a two or three sentence post. The 34 book from the V8 club may help also. I hope your friend gets his truck going and you can post some pics.

Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
My friend has corrected me in that the truck is a 33, 4 cyl, model B Ford. The cab and sheetmetal are the worst part, but he is a former bodyman ( like 1950's) wh still does great work. He has a rolling chassis which runs and he's driven it around his lot. Problems are finding a proper Zenith carb to rebuild and the original fuel pump is not rebuildable ( pot metal upper is shot).

Re: Model B 4 cyl guru
There are lots of '32-'34 four-cylinder carburetors and fuel pumps out there (although you would not know that from some of the inflated asking prices for fuel pumps). In addition to rockfla's suggestion you may wish to try ebay using 'model b ford' to search. Lots of both those items turn up there.
