1933-34 gas pedal
Ok I have an easy question. How do you take apart a '33-'34 4 cyl pedal assy. I see what looks like a pin on the pedal, but does it screw in or is it pressed in....I don't want to screw up any threads in there.

tap it out with a hammer and a punch. If there is movement in the joint suggest you reassemble with a new split pin and use locktite retaining compound.

I start with a small ball bur in a dremel. I make a depression in the middle of the pin-this centers the drill. I start with a small drill and go almost through,if every thing looks staight I go to a bigger drill, put the pedal on hard surface with a hole and punch the weakened pin out. This is all standard stuff, but the ball bur either in a dremel or a die grinder for larger pins centers a drill much better than a center punch. the drill can not walk. John |
