Default 1929 Coupe header gap

I am installing a top wood kit that came with the car. I do not know who made the kit or how old it is. The problem I am having is with the header. Attached are three photos. One photo shows a gap between the metal header and the wood header. Is there a seal that fits in there ? The holes in the second picture I think are for attaching the metal header to the wood header, is that correct. Gary

Based on my factory drawing for the A-47235 Front Roof Rail (a/k/a header) what you have is not even close to being cut accurately. The wood sits flat against the metal header with just a piece of friction tape between the wood and the metal.

Even the header wood pieces I have installed from well known suppliers must be worked and fit to the metal header cover.

I had my header on and off a dozen or more times to get it close.
