Default Need a copy of body mounts for 47 coupe

Finally replacing the body/ running board rubber mounts on the 47 coupe. The Bob Drake kit is what I知 using, but I can稚 find the instruction sheet with locations.
Most I can figure out by the shape, but some are badly squished. And I want to make sure I知 putting the right ones in the right place.
They have part numbers on them. But I only have a chassis catalog, not a body one.

The two I知 going to have a problem with are the ones at the rearmost of the running board. Like all the RB bolts, these snapped off, and the caged nuts are not accessable. I知 guessing I知 going to have to cut into the rocker to get to these.

Thank you,
Ralph

Hey Ralph, if I'm not wrong, Van Pelt should have a picture of what you're looking for. As a side note: why not drill out the broken bolt and retap the hole, I believe that they're 1/4"-20. Tom

I just mounted the body on my ‘46 Mercury coupe using a Drake kit. I think I have the instructions somewhere. I will dig them out. I also broke a few running board bolts, and cut them out and welded new cage nuts in place. It was a lot easier than I first thought.

The bolts are 5/16 x 24 I might try drilling on the two hardest to reach ones though. Otherwise it痴 major surgery. The rest are not so bad.
But I知 not looking forward to the running board cage nuts. Removing the two spotwelds and old nut is not an issue, getting the old piece out and new one in is.
Here is how I did my 35 fender nuts, but I could get to those.

Ralph, I'd done a concourse restoration on a '46 coupe a few years back and like you, was forced to cut open the rockers to access the caged nuts. Not too bad when the body was on the rotisserie but still, a PITA overall.

That takes all the fun out of it when you don’t get to eat the dirt and rust while working on it!
