Default Re: Starts with hand crank only

Two things I learned about model As a long time ago was to always keep a spare condenser close at hand and to maintain the electrical system connections with special emphasis on the battery connections. Condensers have always been a weak point on the model A. With a leaky condenser, the amperage draw of the starter will reduce current available to the ignition circuit and a bad condenser will kill off most of the high tension induction cycle. The coil needs a good condenser to make a good spark. The engine will run with a weak spark but it won't start well.

I also learned to check the easy things first in any form of mechanical troubleshooting.

Sorry everyone, I've been out of town for a few days and haven't been here to work on the "A" problem. Will try and get back on to it and finding the problem. Thanks for all the advice.
