Default Do I Need a New Starter UPDATE

Removed the 8BA starter today and found that it has a broken Bendix spring. Will now try the Ed Pitts 12V conversion suggested in first thread. I would also like to replace the broken spring and have that unit as a spare. Where do I buy the special lock washers? #11379 Thanks

V8: So true. Only lasted about 50+ years!
Any idea as to where to get washers # 11379 and a NOS spring? Thanks.

Yo, Jim........MacVP has the washers for a buck a piece, and a spring (didn't call it "NOS") for $7. Can you afford all that? DD
