Road Rebel
Tomorrow I will build a mount to hang my dad's car club plaque. He along with Bill Burke, Joe Hunt and a few others were in a club in LA in the late 30's. Club name was Road Rebels. Here is dad with his 34 roadster. Oh and that is an original Carson Top
With a little porting and ignition work by Joe Hunt (magneto fame) it did 98.7 at Muroc Dry Lake They had a reunion in the mid 60's at our house in Burbank, CA. Somebody had a local foundry cast up some plaques and painted them for members at the reunion. They forgot the "S" at the end but that is ok Dad and I started a 32 Highboy about 40 years ago then life got in the way. All we had was chassis parts. I bought a Brookville 8 years ago and am getting closes to finishing it. I think of dad whenever I work on it. I have to have this plaque on our car. |

Re: Road Rebel
Whoa, wow. I'd flip out, to pull up behind that '32. Looks like a neat car.
Any clues to the existence of the '34? Thanks for sharing.

Re: Road Rebel
There was also a club in L.A. called the Road Runners. I have a real old photo of that club from the late 40's. Many of the Road Runners raced at Muroc also.
