signal stat 900 question
Should my newly installed signal stat 900 red "pilot light" always be lit, even when the ignition is off? It sure doesn't seem right that I have to pull the fuse in order to get it to go off. What do you guys think the problem is, how did I err in my wiring? thx. I should add that it is a completely new system, including wiring harness from Snyder's, with the new blinker wiring harness as well. I grounded each light separately to the battery, so I don't believe it is that, but anything can happen I know.

Re: signal stat 900 question
No it should not, I installed mine just like the schematic shows and the light is only on when the flashers are operating (they will flash with or without the ing. sw. on). As a side note, remember if your wiring is done as factory, the ing. sw. is not switching battery, like more modern cars, on an A it is between the coil and the points. So if you want your flashers to be "dead" when the car off you would need to rewire so the ing. sw. is between the coil and the battery and then use the switched side of the ing. switch as the power source. Or install a "master" switch to kill all power.

Re: signal stat 900 question
Universal picture not specific to Model A but shows the flasher.

Re: signal stat 900 question
Had the same problem. The 535 flashers are junk, they say heavy duty(load compensating) but are NOT. Go on e-bay & search: LL535 Tridon. They work & made in the USA!!!!!

Re: signal stat 900 question
The info on the 535 flashers is good. The new units are junk !
The old USA made units are good and the info about the LL535 is great. |

New Zealand and Australia sound like nice countries to live in, but the shipping would kill me. Why can China ship tons of junk for pennies, but every little part going to New Zealand and Australia takes a bank loan? |

Re: signal stat 900 question
I know this is an older post, but I found it because I had the same problem mentioned in the OP. I was skeptical that it could be as simple as a junk flasher, but I ordered a new one, and sure enough, it was the flasher. Thank you, Russ Koch!

Both correct - #4 is bottom of flasher, #5 is top of socket.

Re: signal stat 900 question
They are the same just rotated 180. Also don't look at the letter look at the dot.

Re: signal stat 900 question
Ok, isc. On reexamination they both show bottom of the flasher. #4 is a little off-center, #5 is badly drawn. But both correct.

Re: signal stat 900 question
Had the same problem with my car for all these years and lived with it. Last winter I saw this post and put it on my to do list. I changed the flasher and the problem was solved.
Cheep Repo Parts. At least the new one works. |
