Never seen those before. $157.00 seems awful cheap to me. Its your money, but I believe that "you get what you pay for".

I’ve tried a couple of the rochester 2 gc carbs and are not bad . Both needed to be cleaned and have the float set . Just some flashing that broke off in the fuel bowl was the reason for cleaning . Uses metric threads .

Trying to lightly tap dance around subjects best left elsewhere, I don't think these stolen designs should be rewarded with purchases. We're just digging our own graves by supporting them when we could be supporting businesses that actually have a real interest in our hobby. JMO

Carpenters are made in China and assembled by them. So if you want new where do you buy?

I've got a friend who bought them. Seemed to work OK except the throttle plate screws were not tight. Fell in to engine. Luckily did no harm.

Kinda reminds me of the Super-97 Stromberg copies made by Speedway. Questionable performance.

slightly off topic,
I bought a chinese carb for my little ct70 honda. the originals bring at least 200.
the chinese copy was 17. and it runs perfect. so yes, some chinese products are pretty good. Do I want to support china? NO. at this point, choices are limited.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any of these around anymore.

My uncle tried the cheap Chinese copy...and took it back off soon after.

He said it gave him trouble...although didn't go into specifics?

Kudos to the four replies that offered firsthand knowledge of offshore carburetors as the OP requested.

If you are not in a huge hurry, over the next few months I’m going to liquidate a too large collection of 94s. I have most models. They will be correctly finished, no Eastwood carb paint here. Linkages replated, oversized shafts as required. Will be up to new owners to replace the expendable parts. No LZ carbs, last one, a Chandler Groves LZ went
To England.

There is a good 94 type carburetor re-builder in the USA. Why buy a questionable carburetor, and who will fix it's problems ? Charlie uses the good correct parts when re-building. Try Charlie, 716-662-9159.

I've been looking for twi 1/16 Holleys and haven found any in the junk yards, however I did find one, but he wanted $250 for it. What I worry about the china caeb is the carb also runs the ignition advance as well. So I;ll stick with the 2GC's for now. They may not look right, but they run right

The point being, these are knock-off designs that are stolen and produced cheaply. The Carpenters may be made in China, but they are an official product, not a stolen design.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, it's just my opinion, but we reap what we sow.

Sadly, that's true. But buying stolen and cheaply made (inferior) copies does not help anyone. Like I said, JMO.

Since you want to push the subject, NO, I do not. And I go way out of my way to try and find American made products for everything I purchase, and I do mean everything. It takes a lot of effort, and typically added cost. BUT, the quality is typically much better. Your point?

Push the subject? Um, asking questions is how one continues a conversation.
Good for you in that you attempt to buy American made products. Seriously.
It appears you, one of few, realize that without wholesalers buying all the stuff from other countries, and most folks wanting "cheap" without considering quality / service life, this would be a non-issue.
Too bad there are so few folks with your dedication.
