Default Bad Luck / Good Luck

Bad Luck:
Lost the choke lever spring and plunger out of my 94 Holley

Good Luck:
Found the plunger on the shop floor yesterday, found the spring on the shop floor today

Bad Luck:
Putting the heads back on the '40 24-stud and just now noticed one of the shorter studs is all boogered up.

Good Luck:
I was able to borrow a stud extractor set from Auto Zone

Bad Luck:
Even with heat and penetrating oil, the stud wouldn't budge and the stud extractor gave me enough grip on the stud to snap it off cleanly and level with the head surface.

Good Luck:
I have the tools and the experience to drill and tap it..

And more good luck:
it turned out fine and the gasket and head fit cleanly over a stud placed in the newly drilled and tapped hole.

One more hurdle cleared and progress continues...
