The bottom of the door panel should be 1/16"-1/8" above that mark. From that point measure up to the hole centers and compare with your door panels. The door panel should NOT close between the door and the sill. It should slightly clear the top of the sill. In the pic below you will see a wear mark in the paint along the upper side face of the sill. I believe that is from the rubber weatherstrip.

Ahhhhhh...I like the photo of the "screw" in the "windlace"!

I'll look to see if I took a picture of the bottom of the door panel, which might show the rubber strip.

This is the only picture I can find, and it's a June 1928 with the original door panel. It doesn't show the rubber well enough for any details.

Interesting Tom,

Your June of 1928 shows fabric behind the door pocket where my February 1929 does not...just cowl style cardboard. As was with my September 1929 Standard Coupe.

Does your Tudor have the windlace (plus the screw) as Marco shows in his photo (photo is of Mike Gooding's Early 12/14/27 A2157 Tudor, KY20)? I think that was deleted before June of 1928...According to my research, the "screw" was used knowingly to March 1928 and deleted before May 1928. (See my website for the "Mysterious Holes").

NOW FOR THE RUBBER SEAL... My Tudor has the seal on both doors. It extends from one side of the panel to the other. It also extends downward from the panel 1/2 inch.

NOW HERE IS THE KICKER...The part that extends down 1/2 inch is a double seal, or a flap of sorts kind of like an upside V with the rubber extending upward to be attached to the clips, not a single seal from the bottom of the door panel.

Pluck

Here is another picture showing more of the windlace. It's an early 1928, but I can't remember the date, nor who's car it is.

The top picture shows an original June 1928 Tudor that belongs to a club member. Notice the screw has been dropped and the fabric is rolled inside of itself to form the end.

Also notice how the metal quarter panel is secured differently between the two 1928's.

Steve,

Does it look like this part from Bratton? If so, does the bulge go toward or away from the body sill?

That is exactly what it looks like with the bulge going TOWARD the body sill...the flat part against the door panel...the rubber is placed between the upholstery panel and the metal door panel.

Pluck, might as well show the front windlace for the same door on the June 1928 Tudor.

Joe, I put the extra flap facing in toward the body.
