Default A funny Ford story that we can learn from.

The other day I pulled into our local shopping mall and spotted a freshly restored '35-5 window.BEAUTIFUL! The gentleman inside the car was apparently waiting for his wife.I approached the car and told him how much I admired his old Ford.He said"Oh it's not mine. It's my wife's car.I bought it for her for our anniversary."I said"Wow! That was very generous of you."He then replied,"Yep,and next year she gets a bass boat."

Years ago I had a BMW motorcycle and a Piper Arrow airplane. The motorcycle sat in the garage while I played with the airplane. I wanted a new Loran, a navigational piece of equipment that was later made obsolete by GPS. The cost was $1300. I told my wife I would sell the motorcycle if I could go ahead and buy the Loran. She gave me the go ahead because she hated the motorcycle more than the airplane. A few months later I would want something else, again I promised to sell the motorcycle. She would give me the go ahead. Finally she realized the game I was playing and it no longer worked....

Shadetree....you're killin' me here.Do you still have all four(BMW,plane,Loran and the wife)? I've realized over the years that at times we have to give some things up to get something else.I have a girlfriend now.I have to hand it to my ex-wife though, she was a good housekeeper. She kept the house.

Willet,
This is off subject and I didn't mean to hijack the thread.

I finally sold the BMW, still have the wife, Arrow and the Loran. Three out of four ain't bad. She has been after me to sell the Arrow. A family friend just offered me his 2009 Corvette with 2500 miles on it. I haven't seen it but my son says it is a real beauty. I gave my son a 1946 Aeronca Champ if he would restore it. He did and we are enjoying it. I don't need a current medical to fly the Champ, it is only 65 HP. BTW I am 76 years old...

Here is an article a local newspaper wrote about me and my airplanes several years ago. He mentions the Loran and that is the Champ pictured I gave my son....
