Default 1007B cam in a '40 coupe

Planning on running a built 3&5/16x4" 59L in a '40 coupe. The 1007B Isky, which is I believe a track cam has been recommended. Anyone have some real world experience they can share on the performance of the cam in a relatively heavy car like a '40 coupe. Thank you. Russ

I got one from Pete that will also be going into a 276. Going into my '41 Tudor with a T5 behind it. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Here's the original spec's from an old 1961 Honest Charley catalog. Maybe that will be of some help.

This is a good preforming cam and works well in a heavy car. However, like the L-100 needs compression. I'd make sure the piston to nead clearanceis in the 40/50 thou for better lowend torque. Sounds pretty good as well.

Nice cam, has a fast lift rate. I think you will love it. Works great on the street

Thank you all for help. The Honest Charley chart was very interesting as I have a old stock car motor where the cam lift measures about .300 or close to stock. This engine ran in Falconi Bros stock car in the late 50's & early 60's. The car was a frequent winner. The engine is .080 over or about 3.260 something, has an aluminum flywheel, a home made relief, and used Thickstun heads and dual manifold which were all allowed at this track. I bet it had the "track cheater" in it.
Back to the 59L, the 1007B sound like a good matchup for this engine as I am running vintage 8.75 Navarro heads, close piston to head clearance, and the stock relief of .070 for plenty of compression.

Gotta love the old prices from the catalog.
