For light dirt or smudges Westleys or Soft Scrub with bleach is the ticket. |

Re: White Wall Cleaner
Coker and Diamondback both say NEVER EVER,use Wesleys White wall cleaner. Both companys recomend Brillo pads or similar. I scrub them about once a year with Brillo or SOS. Then every time I take the car out I wipe the white walls down with Simple Green,or Soft Scrub.

Re: White Wall Cleaner
In one of their catalogs, they claim the chemicals in Wesleys pulls the oil out of the white wall, causing premature cracking. I have had trouble with Coker tires cracking, and they would not warranty them. Diamondback claims their white walls will never crack or turn yellow, but don't use Weselys on them. Never store tires so black is touching white, that will cause yellowing in that spot. I once leaned two tires against the wall, while I pulled the rear axle. After several weeks I had a yellow spot about 2" X 1/2",that spot won't come out.

Re: White Wall Cleaner
I think it depends on how much you drive the vehicle...
If it's a show car that you are not likely to wear the tires-out, might want to avoid Westley's... If you're like me, and drive the car a lot, and your tires will be bald in two or three years, I'd use the Bleche-White. Been using the stuff on my drivers of the last 25 years, probably three to four times a season at most on a given car... The tires were always worn to baloney-skins before there was any serious sidewall cracking. The white rubber DOES deteriorate more quickly due to UV and oxygen degradation than does rubber compounded with carbon black ( which is one reason tire makers got away from all-white tires in the first place ! ). Re: White Wall Cleaner
I use a Mr. Clean pad, Soap and water. The Wesleys will mess up your paint on your wheels.

Re: White Wall Cleaner
i HAVE USED WESLEY'S ON MY 10 YEAR OLD WHITEWALLS AND IT WORKS GREAT! However, try not to inhale any of that stuff... you'll wheeze all nite!!
I went back to using a wet sponge with Cascade dish washing detergent.. works just as good. I dump a little from the box on the wet sponge and start scrubbing. The dry detergent has a somewhat abrasive action as it cleans with the water in the sponge. |

Re: White Wall Cleaner
After seeing an add in Hemmings I bought some of the Detail Pro white wall wipes and they work great for the occasional maintance and cleanups without the need for water, or in the case of Westley's rubber gloves. Whitewallwipes.net

Re: White Wall Cleaner
The wife uses SOS pads on the white wall tires, and refuses to use anything else.
