Re: water pump ID
These are around. Four bolts so these are "Model A." They are thought to be "aftermarket" pumps available at Pep-Boys, Western Auto, J.C. Whitney and others through the 1950s.
They are unusual in that they utilize the guts and impeller of a later V8 pump installation, and like the V8 Pump they incorporate a lip seal rather than packing. Hence no brass or zinc packing gland. The downside is that parts for these are not available, although in real life they're not a bad pump and many originals survive without leaking. I have one of these I don't use, although I see a "rebuild kit" for the V8 pump is available from the parts houses, and this could possibly be adapted to "bring this pump back" should it be necessary. But a "real" Model A pump either in the original version or the "Leakless" version is a much better known - and repairable - entity. Hope this helps. Joe K

Re: water pump ID
To my knowledge, the V8 pumps used a carbon seal, far superior to any lip seal, may be worth looking into?

Re: water pump ID
I convert my Model A pumps to use a carbon seal and sealed ball bearing in the front. No leaks yet. I have made a couple of castings with slight modifications (none that would be visible) so that I can put a modern ceramic seal in. I figure that should last for the next 90 years (well, almost). When I get time, I will machine them and get them going.
