Re: 1948 pickup 3 speed transmission
It has value but the cluster is one of the expensive parts. I'd worry more about what condition the case is in when looking for a Ford light duty 3-speed. No cracks around the counter shaft bore in front and a decent thrust face at the back. If the case is bad, there are only a few good parts left it there. The side shifters can still be had for a decent price and the guts will go right in that case if they are all still good. The top is a good one as long as it isn't too worn and the 2nd/3rd shift fork is in good condition. A lot of folks are looking for the closed drive type main shaft unless they are putting it back in a pickup.
